Sealed Electronics Extend Your Driving Fun

Traxxas shocked enthusiasts with the release of our exclusive watertight, sealed electronics in the E-Maxx that provided the freedom to drive where you want to drive through water, mud, snow, and other wet-running conditions that wouldn’t have been possible before. Now the Traxxas Rustler is Ready-To-Race with this waterproof technology. The new XL-5 electronic speed control and the mini receiver are sealed against the elements giving you the freedom go places you might not have thought possible. A System of Power
Being faster is more fun! Bandit’s performance comes from a system of components that are engineered to work together for efficient operation and high-output performance. The Titan® 12T 550 modified motor is designed for brutal mod-motor power with virtually maintenance-free operation and long-lasting performance. The Titan’s integrated cooling fan pulls cool air through the motor to keep temperatures down. Airflow is routed through cooling passages molded into the motor plate. A cooler running motor equates to faster speeds, longer runtime, and extended motor life.

 

 

The waterproof XL-5 Electronic Speed Control tames the Titan 12T with high current handling, EZ-Set® one-button setup, and smooth, high-frequency control. Three drive profiles, thermal shutdown protection, gold-plated connectors, and incredibly low resistance are all included features you might expect to only be available on an expensive replacement ESC. The XL-5 is the first electronic speed control equipped with the patent-pending Training Mode™ that limits full-throttle power to 50%. This allows young or new drivers to safely develop their control skills before unlocking full power to the Titan 12T motor. Bandit is perfect for drivers of any age and skill level. Only Traxxas has it.

 

 

The quest for ultimate speed began with the battery connector. As today’s batteries store more and more energy inside their cells, traditional battery connectors became a roadblock, unable to deliver all the energy the battery is capable of outputting. The new Traxxas High-Current Connector opens the door for unrestricted current flow.

Titan® 12-Turn 550 Modified Motor
The Bandit includes a powerful Titan 12T 550 modified motor with internal cooling fan. An industry first for this class of truck. The Titan’s over-sized armature (30% larger compared to 540-sized armatures) is equipped with 12-turns of pure copper wire for big torque and increased power-handling capabilities. Lower running temperatures are achieved with the integrated cooling fan. The Titan 12T requires very little maintenance and is designed for consistent torque and high speeds from run to run, without fading.

Beyond the specs, the Titan 12T is made for dirt-roosting torque, lightning-quick acceleration, big-air jumps, and just about any other 4-wheel fun that demands real horsepower. Be sure to check out the videos to see it in action!

 

XL-5 Waterproof Electronic Speed Control
Designed and engineered by Traxxas, the XL-5 Electronic Speed Control handles the elements while smoothly supplying power to the motor. This high-performance ESC is packed with impressive specifications that are normally only found on more expensive high-end replacement units. The XL-5 features a completely waterproof design, three throttle profiles, Thermal Shutdown Protection, 4-8 cell compatibility, and built-in BEC. High frequency operation combined with ultra-low resistance make the XL-5 an efficient and ultra-smooth fully proportional speed control. An exclusive feature on the XL-5 is the patent pending Training Mode™. This profile reduces the overall power output of the XL-5 by 50% making it easier for young or new drivers to develop their control skills before unleashing full-power operation. Bandit includes a genuine Power Cell Battery Pack to make sure you experience all the performance that's been engineered into your Traxxas model. Power Cell packs are optimized for free-flowing power and maximum punch with premium quality, low-resistance cells; flexible, silicone-jacketed 12-gauge wire; heavy-duty welded tabs; and Traxxas' high-output, gold plated, high-current connectors. Seven cells give Bandit 8.4 volts of motivation for maximum speed, and precision assembly with attractive, individually wrapped cells and clear overwrap complete the Traxxas Power Cell package.

 

High-Torque Waterproof Steering Servo
A race truck needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance, and Traxxas delivers with the 2056 high-torque servo. This waterproof steering servo uses O-ring seals to keep the fun going when things get wet. Waterproof for all-weather action, the 2056 provides 80 oz-in of steering muscle. That's twice the power of typical "standard" servos.

 

Waterproof Receiver Box
Bandit's innovative receiver box is fully waterproof, yet it's easy to access the receiver maintenance. The exclusive patent-pending design holds a 4-channel micro receiver that saves weight and provides reliable, long-range R/C performance.

 

Four Channel Micro Receiver
A four channel Traxxas micro receiver gives you additional room to grow! The 4-channel micro receiver features two steering servo ports, eliminating the need for a Y-harness.

 

Securely Mounted Electronics
The ESC and watertight receiver box are screwed to the chassis for ultimate mounting security. There’s no servo tape to loosen over time with dirt, heat, and collisions.

 

 

Durable Gray Parts
The durable monocoque chassis tub is made from highest quality nylon composites. Many parts including the chassis, shock bodies, and transmission housing are now molded in gray for a fresh look.

 

Revo®-spec Torque-Control™ Slipper Clutch
Revo technology is utilized to manage the increased power from the Titan 12T motor. The Torque-Control slipper clutch uses special semi-metallic friction material and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates to dissipate heat and provide consistent traction control. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement you can count on, run after run. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment.

 

Alias™ Tires and Tracer™ Wheels
Bandit comes with stylish 2.2" Tracer™ mirror-chrome five-spoke wheels. Performance-designed Alias™ 2.2" rear tires feature a step-pin design and come pre-glued from the factory. New Alias™ ribbed front tires offer superior directional control, the tire combination provides sure-footed traction on a variety of off-road terrains. The industry standard 2.2" Tracer wheels allow for a wide array of accessory tires to be installed, including the new Traxxas Anaconda 2.2" street tires for Bandit and other buggies.

Powder Coated White Springs
White springs feature a race-tuned spring rate for more responsive handling and the long-lasting, white powder coated finish sets Rustler apart from the pack.

Included Optional Pinion Gear
The Bandit reaches its blistering 35+mph top speed using the optional 31-tooth pinion gear (included) and a 7-cell 8.4V battery pack (sold separately). Out of the box, the installed 26-tooth pinion gear is just right for all-around, on or off-road action.

 

 

ProGraphix® Bodies
The Bandit's fully trimmed and painted ProGraphix body is available in red, blue, black, and silver. Decals are also applied to save you time and get you driving just minutes out of the box. Traxxas’ ProGraphix bodies are the hottest looking bodies around and are only available on Traxxas Ready-to-Race® models.

 

Oil-Filled Ultra Shocks™
Bandit's oil-filled Ultra Shocks utilize X-ring technology for a perfect seal and super-smooth performance. They are fully tunable with a wide range of oils, springs, and pistons. Features include pressure bladders for air/oil separation and spring clips to precisely change the ride height and spring pre-load. They can be renewed in minutes with our inexpensive rebuild kits.

 

Motor Mount with Cooling Channels
The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks. The molded motor plate includes finned cooling channels where the motor mounts to the motor plate. The cooling channels work in conjunction with the internal Titan 12T motor fan to pull air through the motor for superior cooling.

 

Brushless Ready Magnum 272™ Transmission
The Bandit’s Magnum 272 transmission is assembled with new all metal gear internals riding on ultra-smooth sealed ball bearings. Combined with the smooth 48-pitch gears, power is delivered quietly to the durable telescoping U-joint driveshafts. The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks.

 

Brushless Ready Planetary Gear Differential
The Traxxas planetary gear differential uses hardened steel internal gears for maximum strength during rigorous off-road bashing. This type of differential requires virtually no maintenance and its efficient design puts maximum tire-shredding power to the wheels.

 

Fiber Composite Arms
Proven suspension geometry is carried over from the race-winning Traxxas SRT. Solid, durable camber links take the guess work out of set-up and are captured to keep you on the track even when the going gets rough. Captured rod ends provide unmatched durability and they simply won't pop off.

 

Bellcrank Steering
High-performance bellcrank steering system minimizes bump steer to increase cornering stability.

 

Telescoping Driveshafts
Slider driveshafts are extremely durable, and they allow greater articulation for increased suspension travel.

 Secure Wing Mount
For secure wing mounting a Z-bent wire mount keeps the wing held solidly in place. The wing's new design makes it easy to remove and re-install for fast battery changes.

 

TQ Radio System
The included TQ radio system includes a high-power transmitter with a specially designed comfort grip, a precise high-torque steering servo, and a compact receiver. The perfectly balanced TQ transmitter features servo reversing, a low battery indicator, electronic trim control, and it is digitally proportional for precise steering and throttle control.

RC Vehicle Parts/Accessories Shipping:  On our Cart/Check Out Page we have a shipping method called "RC Parts"  If you do not want expedited shipping of RC Vehicle parts/accessories please select this shipping method. 

For small items the cost will never exceed $9.00 per shipment.  For larger heavier items like the Nitro Kits, work stands etc. the cost may be slightly higher.  In no case will we ever charge more then $14.00 per order for RC vehicle parts/accessories. We will adjust the shipping cost lower when the order is processed if the actual shipping cost is indeed lower.  These costs depend upon shipping location, weight and size. 

By selecting the RC Parts shipping method you will be charged either $9.00 or $14.00 depending upon the weight of the RC parts  in the order.  An order weighting less then 3 lbs.  will be charged $9.00 orders 3 lb. or more $14.00.   Again if the actual shipping costs are lower when we process the order we will adjust the costs down and notify you. 

This shipping method cannot be used to ship any other non-RC parts/accessories items we sell nor can any other non-RC parts/accessories be included or used with this shipping method.   If this method is used with other items the order will be delayed until we can contact the customer and correct the error.

How do I get Traxxas warranty service?

All warranty claims should be handled directly through Traxxas and not your hobby dealer. If you suspect you have a warranty claim, contact Traxxas toll free at 1-888-TRAXXAS (1-888-872-9927). Many times we are able to immediately solve problems over the phone.Traxxas Corporation assumes responsibility for their products and will repair or replace any defective product at their sole discretion.

Our toll-free customer service line provides direct access to our highly experienced factory trained representatives. In most cases, warranty items are sent out the same day the request is received. In the event that factory service is required, our technicians are usually able to make repairs within a 3-5 working day time frame after we receive the product.

In addition to these warranties, Traxxas offers an extended service plan for electronic components after the 30-day warranty has expired. This plan states that Traxxas will repair electronic components, at any time throughout the life of the part, for a flat rate of $15.00 plus $5.00 for shipping and handling. The electronic components covered under this service plan include certain Traxxas electronic speed controls, and all transmitters, receivers, and servos. Be sure to check here for more information on Traxxas' extended service programs.

Traxxas also offers the Lifetime Engine Replacement Plan for nitro-powered engines. This plan allows you, at any time throughout the lifetime of your TRX Pro.15 engine, to exchange it for a brand-new TRX Pro.15 engine at 50% of the suggested retail price of a new TRX Pro.15. For more information on any of the Traxxas warranties or any of our other service plans, contact our customer service department.
